Alsace is a nice source for affordable dry Rieslings. This one is light gold in color. The nose has grapefruit, slight peach and minerality. Medium bodied. Dry on the palate. More about minerals than fruit. Easy to drink. Nice finish. This was under $20 and certainly worth the price. Drink over the next five to seven years. This will work well with Thai food.

An interesting blend of Gewurztraminer and Riesling. It was sold for $20 which is a nice value. Light gold/green in color. Oddly, this seems to have some trapped CO2 in the bottle as it shows up on the glass if the not the palate. Neither varietal seems to be very pronounced on the nose, although both show up a bit. Slight lychee, apricot and minerals. On the palate, this is viscous. A perception of sweetness but seems dry though ripe. Lychees and apricots. Good finish. Will work well with Indian or Thai food.
This is a wonderful Riesling made in the Alsace region of France. It is a distinct style that is different from neighboring Germany. In Alsace it can be hard to tell if a wine is dry or sweet. This one is dry. It is young and needs more time, but even so, it provides a lot of pleasure today. Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose has minerals, orange peel and slight peach. On the palate, this is full bodied and slightly viscous. Delicious. Notes of orange peel and peaches carry thru along with a hint of ginger over a mineral base.
