Wow. This is drinking great but may yet hit that 100 point mark. Purple in color. The nose has cassis, blueberries, smoke, gravel and graphite. All of those come thru to the palate along with some roasted meats. Firm tannins. Drunk over two nights, it was fresher on Night one and deeper on night two. Fantastic both nights. This will probably follow that path as it matures. Will work with meats and heartier foods.
I opened this at 8:00 am for serving about 12 hours later. It needed more time or a decant. Still, once in the glass it continued to open up all night. Just a gorgeous wine. A bit more time and this probably merits a perfect score. Purple in color. The nose has cassis, blueberries, gravel, char and slight cedar. On the palate, just a wonderful juicy, lush texture. Almost seamless. Voluptuous. Lots of bluieberry and cassis fruit with underlying gravel. Pinpoint acidity. Long finish. Worked great with dinner. Wow, what a wine! BTW, this is not to be confused with the wine of the same name without the "Elysian". Inky purple in color, shimmering bright and opaque. The nose has cassis, cedar, chocolate, graphite, tobacco, blueberries and just a hint of funk. Full bodied. Firm tannins. Rich, lush texture. This is young but delicious. On the palate, cassis, blueberries, chocolate, with some underlying leather. Deep and complex. Long finish. This will evolve and may even improve but it is so good today. Beautiful bottle. Inky purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose has cassis, blueberries, dark chocolate, slight graphite and spice. Full bodied. Firm tannins. On the palate, this is delicious. Great balance. Flavors of cassis, blueberries, dark chocolate and spice. Long finish. This is young but drinks nicely with a bit of air. It will get better. Drink over the next twenty to thirty years. Great on its own, for now, stick to rich or fatty meats, but also roasted vegies will work.
Another stellar Myriad Cab. Purple in color, opaque and shimmering bright. The nose is great with cassis, graphite, cedar and spice. Full bodied. On the palate, this has firm tannins. Loads of cassis fruit but it doesn't come off as cumbersome or a fruit bomb. It is a bit tight and needs some air before it opens. Shows cassis over spice and slight char. Long finish. This wine really needs seven to ten more years until peak (maybe more) and should last for another fifteen or twenty years.
