This is a blend of 56% Merlot, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petite Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc from the difficult 2011 vintage. At age 14, this is a very good wine if perhaps not at the level Kapcsandy usually delivers at. Purple in color with a ruby rim, opaque and bright. The nose is nice with black cherries, slight mushrooms, chocolate and spice. Medium bodied. Good acidity. Light to medium tannins. On the palate, this has some depth and complexity. Flavors of tart black cherries, cherries, with some earthiness and forest floor. Moderate finish. This is nice on its own but probably better with food. It would be a nice choice with Roasted fowl. Drink over the next five years.
