While a good, not great vintage in the Northern Rhone, the Guigal La La's are always a real treat. Purple in color, opaque and bright. This one has just started to open up a bit but further cellaring will be rewarded. Purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose has black raspberries, spice, char, black olives, slight fried bacon and"crushed rocks". Deep and complex. Full bodied. Medium tannins. Good acidity. Nice texture. On the palate, this is open but still on the tight side. Flavors of black raspberries, char, and minerality. Long finish. Cellar for as long as you can but drink this over the next twenty to thirty years.
