This is a new estate for me. 2010 was a great vintage which helped just about everyone. This is ruby in color. The nose has cherries with spice. On the palate, this is nice. Mild tannins. Cherry fruit with underlying earthiness. Good acidity. Nice finish. This is at peak and probably should be consumed in the next three to five years. it will work well with burgers and stews.
The 2010 vintage was excellent if quite structured on release. While they have finally opened up, the structure remains. Deep purple in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose has black cherries, roasted meat and roasted herbs. On the palate, this has sweet black cherry fruit with a bit of cherries along with some char and spices. Mild tannins. Good finish. I don't think this will improve from here but should be good for another five to seven years at least. This will work well with burgers or roasts.
This is still a bit on the young side but with a few hours of air, it drank well. Purple in color, ruby at the rim. Opaque and bright. The nose is nice with cherries, spice, minerals, black raspberries and smoke. On the palate, this is full bodied with a rich, lush texture. Lots of juicy black and red raspberries with underlying pepper, and earthiness. Good acidity. Deep with tight layers that unwind in the glass. Long finish. Just a beautiful vintage for this wine. Charvin tends to be more "feminine" or "elegant" but the vintage is not and the resulting wine made for a particularly nice combination. Deep ruby in color, with some darker hues, mostly clear and bright. The nose is pretty with cherries, some black cherries, floral notes and spice. Great, almost plush texture. Plenty of depth. Light tannins. Great energy and balance. On the palate, this is complex and also delicious. Cherries, black cherries, spice, slight leathery note and char. Long finish. Some people will tell you that Chateauneuf du Pape does not age. Well, this is a top wine from a top vintage and at age 19, it is doing just fine with years left. Deep ruby in color. The nose is great with black cherries, slight cherries, hints of garrique and spice, and just a bit of woodiness. Medium bodied. On the palate, this has fresh and vibrant black cherry fruit with some cherries but also some dried red fruits. Nice layering of fruit and earthiness. Good finish. This should be consumed sooner than later but it still should drink well for another three to five years. This w
