2009 R. López de Heredia Rioja Reserva Viña Bosconia, Spain, Rioja, Wine Review

One of the top traditional Riojas in the marketplace.  The Reserva is a nice "compromise" between price and quality.  Ruby in color with just a twinge of brown, mostly clear and bright.  The nose is nice with cherries, slight dill, vanilla, plums, and tobacco.  Medium to full bodied.  Good acidity.  Light to medium tannins.  On the palate, this is complex without tasting old or stale.  Flavors of cherries with spice and slight vanilla.  Long finish.  This is nice on its own but will work well with many foods.  This would go nicely with Lamb Chops.  Drink over the next five to eight years.
