In a beautiful place right now. Deep garnet in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose is great with black cherries, raspberries, slight coffee, spice and a bit of smoked meats. Medium to full bodied. Great balance. On the palate, this is approachable and drinking quite well. Seems to be about at peak even at the "young" age. It has depth and complexity. Flavors of black cherries, raspberries, slight char and spice. Long finish. This should drink well for another five to ten years but doesn't seem like it will be a long ager. Great on its own, this will go well with most foods (not seafood). Roasted chicken would be a nice match.
