This is their basic CdP. Deep garnet in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose has black cherries, slight roasted herbs, slight black olives and black pepper. Medium bodied. Light tannins. Good acidity. On the palate, black cherries and cherries with some black pepper and slight char. Good finish. This seems to be at peak but should drink at the level for another five years. Better with food. This would work well with roasted squash.
This is still a bit on the young side but with a few hours of air, it drank well. Purple in color, ruby at the rim. Opaque and bright. The nose is nice with cherries, spice, minerals, black raspberries and smoke. On the palate, this is full bodied with a rich, lush texture. Lots of juicy black and red raspberries with underlying pepper, and earthiness. Good acidity. Deep with tight layers that unwind in the glass. Long finish. This is in a great place right now (as seem to be many of the top 2005 CdP's). Garnet in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose has black cherries, slight black raspberries, char, black pepper, nutmeg and black pepper. With air some dried flowers and roasted meats. Full bodied. Complex and layered. This is a big, "masculine" styled type of CdP. On the palate, black cherries, with layers of forest floor, spice and earth. Lively acidity. Good balance. Long finish. This is a luxury cuvee for this wine who make a few different CdP's. It is a blend of 40% Grenache, 40% Syrah, and 20% Mourvedre. Purple in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose has raspberries, black cherries, garrigue, pepper and black olives. Full Bodied. On the palate, this is drinking well now. Very concentrated notes of black cherries and black raspberries with underlying pepper and smoke. This has a long finish. It will improve over the next five to seven years but either way will drink well for the next twelve to fifteen years. Great on its own, but better with grilled
This producer used to be known as Font de Michelle but has re-branded using this name. It is a very traditional CdP with about 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre according to the back label. Purple in color. The nose has black cherry and spice and a bit of a liqueur note. Very nice chewy mouth feel. Black cherries, a bit floral and cherries along with some alcohol on the palate. Long finish. This should pair well with stews, charcuterie and roasts. Both 2015 and 2016 are great vintages in CdP. This one easily has a decade or more left to enjoy.
