Golden/green in color. The nose has honey and slight apricots. Thick and viscous. Slightly cloying. Not a lot of acidity. This is a solid dessert wine, but it really was much more impressive with an assortment of cheeses. A stinky blue worked quite well. 12% Alcohol. A nice finish to a meal. This is in a great place but should last for a long time.
This is a nice white from Mike Smith at Myriad. Light golden in color. The nose is a bit waxy with lemon (a slight furniture polish note) and nice minerality. slightly viscous and slightly oily in texture. On the palate there is a nice lemony note along with underlying minerality. Crisp. Good finish. This is drinking well now. it probably should be consumed in the next few years to enjoy its vibrancy but no doubt it can last longer. It will go well with chicken salad or other lighter foods and sea foods.
From a half bottle. This is a blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc. It is a late harvest dessert wine. Light gold in color, clear and bright. The nose has honey along with a touch of peach. Medium bodied. Slightly viscous. On the palate, this has some sweetness but that has probably faded since release. Some honeyed notes. Moderate finish. These need to be drunk up at this point. It works better with some food. Cheese or less sweet pastries would work.
Robert Mondavi long ago started calling his Sauvignon Blanc as Fume Blanc, but it is the same wine. This is always a quality Sauvignon Blanc for a fair price. This is actually 87% Sauvignon Blanc and 13% Semillon. Pale golden in color with some green and copper hues to it. Clear and bright. The nose is pretty with oranges, limes, minerals and with air, a bit of dust and mint. This has a rich, creamy texture that gives it a presence that most Sauvignon Blancs don't have On the palate, there is lemon-lime, melon and a quality that is sort of like mint tooth paste (in a good way). This is a Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon blend from Napa. Light green/gold in color, clear and bright. The nose is slightly grassy with a touch of lemon verbena. Very clean. Medium bodied. Slightly viscous. Good crisp acidity. On the palate, the lemon is a bit more pronounced with a steely quality. Long finish. Refreshing. This is a very nice white that drinks easy on its own and will work well with lighter foods. A nice wine for Pork Chops. Drink over the next three to five years.
One of my favorite white wine values. This is a blend of 81% Semillon and 19% Muscadelle from Rossi and Pagani Ranch in Sonoma. Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose has lemon, honey, and slight peach. Medium bodied. Slightly heavy texture. Good acidity. On the palate, this is lively with good lemon fruit and some minerality. Long finish. This is delightful on its own and will work well with all but the heaviest of foods. It would pair nicely with Fried Chicken or Chicken salad. Drink over the next ten years.
