Golden in color. A good amount of small(ish) bubbles. The nose is clean with some toast and also some pears. On the palate, this is nice but could use just a bit more of everything; fruit, acid, minerality. Pears are prominent. Clean. Worked well with foods. Solid finish. Very solid wine.
Golden in color with a lot of very small bubbles, clear and bright. The nose is very nice with chalk, toast, and slight marzipan. Full bodied. Good balance. On the palate, this is crisp with a very, very slight sweetness to it. Chalk and slight dried citrus notes. Long finish. This has plenty of depth. Drinking well now, this should drink well for seven to ten more years. It is very food versatile and should go with just about any food. It went very well with a spicy vegetarian pizza.
Wow! Its vintage Krug, but still, wow! This is still young but it is opening up now and really hitting its stride. It has a couple of decades left or more, depending how you like older Champagne. Light golden in color. A nice mousse with lots of tiny bubbles. This is a big wine. The nose has toast, slight ginger, cherries and a slight hay note. On the palate, this has a racy backbone of acidity. At the same time, a broad palate with great complexity. Consumed on a Celebrity Cruise Ship (Alaska) wine tasting. A blend of 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay. Pale golden with some green hues and a steady stream of tiny bobbles. The nose is interesting with toast and limes. Perhaps a slight bit of oxidation. On the palate, this is somewhat demur but had plenty of stuffing. On the palate, more about minerality with slight pear and a bit of chalk. An interesting bitter almond note on the finish. Good acidity. This is drinking maturely but nice right now. Opened for my birthday dinner. This is 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay. It has a deep amber color although clear and bright. A good amount of small-ish bubbles. On the nose this has some strawberries, slight hay, dried floral notes and a slightly nutty quality. On the palate, the strawberries come thru with some light cherries. There is a touch of oxidation here. Nice acidity. It worked better with a bit of food. This is probably not a long term ager and should be drink in the next few years. Wen well with some Shihito peppers.
From the excellent 2008 vintage. This is 60% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir and,10% Pinot Munier. Light golden in color, clear and bright. A fair amount of tiny bubbles. The nose has apples, slight cider notes, and a touch of chalk. Medium bodied. Good acidity. The fruit is ripe which comes off a bit sweet but that calms down with air. Nice apple fruit. Solid finish. This is drinking quite well now and should continue to do so for the next decade. It went well with a varied menu from Shishido peppers and garlic to sharp Cheddar.
