One of the absolute stars of the Kendall Jackson portfolio. This vintage is a blend of 44% Cabernet Franc, 44% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Malbec. Inky purple in color with a thin ruby line, opaque and bright. The nose is deep and fantastic with black raspberries, blueberries, black cherries, graphite, anise and minerals. Also a touch of dark chocolate. Full bodied. Medium to firm tannins. Great balance. At age 18, this is showing some development. On the palate, layers of black raspberries, black cherries, dark chocolate, blueberries and char. Long finish. This is great on its own and will work well with bigger, maybe Roasted meats and fowl (and veggies). Drink over the next twenty years. One of those wines that might get a 100 score if tasted over an evening with a few glasses!
