Wowza. What a great bottle. Golden in color with lots of tiny bubbles. Persistent. The nose is great with Meyer lemon, smoke, spice, slight dried peach and a bit of a floral quality. Deep and complex. Full bodied. Great energy and balance. On the palate, this is very structured but all the stuffing you could ask for. A bit of lemon peel, toast, and spice. Mature but years left. This is great on its own but will work well with just about any food. Delicious. Drink over the next ten to twenty years. This would be great with Chinese food.

Spectacular Champagne. The P2 series is held back for almost 15 years before being released. This one is from the excellent 2002 vintage. The extra time has served to make this a bit fuller and rounder but with all the verve of the original release. Golden in color with some green hues. A lovely stream of tiny bubbles in the fluted glass. On the nose, this is smoky with lemons, salinity and spice (ground coriander?). Full bodied. Yowza. This is certainly a step up from the 2000 P2 and the regular 2002 version of this wine. The P2 signifies that is saw about another 8 years of bottle ageing (under cork) before its final dosage. The dosage is also less sugar than the regular version. Just a stunning and youthful wine. This was Magnum 94/200. A friend's daughter was awarded this bottle from her employer, and she presented it to him for his 60th birthday which was generously shared with his friends. Amazing wine. Silvery gold in color, a steady stream of tiny bubbles, clear and bright. The nose is big with toast, Meyer Lemons, chalk and a hint of ginger. Full bodied. 2008 is a great vintage for Champagne. This is the first Dom I have tasted from that vintage. Outstanding and also a bit unique. Light golden in color with a very nice mousse of tiny bubbles. On the nose, this has a a nice meyer lemon note along with an ever so slight nuttiness and a bit of smoke. It opens slowly with air and never is a big nose at this point but does show bit of ginger root. On the palate, this is excellent if still young. A phenomenal wine in a phenomenal vintage. Dom really nailed it in 2008. Light green/gold in color with lots of tiny bubbles. The nose has lemons, brioche, and slight smoke. On the palate, this is seamless. Smooth. Tart lemons, chalk and crushed rocks. A very long finish. Delicious and deep. This is still young with lots of energy. It should drink like this for another ten years before starting to mature for another twenty to thirty after that. It will work with virtually any food. An incredible wine.
