This was pop and pour, and then served blind which in retrospect was a poor choice.  Next bottle gets decanted for a bit and then accounting for sediment, double decanted back to its original bottle.  This threw a lot of sediment and did not get a fair shot at reviving from being in the bottle.  Purple in color with ruby swirls, mostly opaque and bright.  The nose shows dust, figs, black cherries, and slight earthiness.  Medium to full bodied.  On the palate, this needs time.  Going back to the glass after 30 minutes, it showed better and seemed to be improving.  Flavors of black cherries, spice and earthiness.  There did seem to be some residual sugar despite being labeled "Secco".  Not sure if that was a function of age or just the bottle for some reason.  Not overwhelming but present.  In any event, I found the bottle very enjoyable but not as good as a bottle opened a couple of months ago.  it also had far more sediment.  Keep an eye on these.
