Cabernet franc can be a scary alternative to cabernet sauvignon, at least for some people. But in the capable hands of Flora Springs this is a real treat. This wine opens up with lovely blackberry, blueberry, black cherry and huckleberry notes. It then offers mild tannins and acidity along with dusty leather, light vanilla, and a whisper of cocoa powder. Aged 18 months in mostly new French and some American oak, the result is a smooth velvety wine with a killer labels that drinks at its price.
