Dave Beaulieu is a husband, father and passionate home cook.  Self taught, and continually learning, Dave’s culinary interests really hit the accelerator when he moved from the Washington DC to San Francisco in 1999.

In the years sense moving, Dave has been able to leverage his exposure to the exciting San Francisco restaurant scene, the incredible wine regions of Napa Valley and Sonoma, and the bounty of fresh local ingredients, to move an interest in cooking into a true passion.  Dave is the founder/owner of the web site NoRecipeRequired.com, a site which is dedicated to showing the fundamental techniques and strategies that home cooks can use to make great meals.  As a contributor to IntoWine.com, Dave is excited to share his knowledge of food and wine with an even broader audience.

Hearing the words "I only drink..." before any statement

The wine region I most want to visit:

Burgundy

My "wish list" of wines I want to acquire soon:

A case of long lasting (30+ years) from the birth year of my daughter - probably some Bordeaux, maybe some Barolo

My biggest wine pet peeve:

The little drip that rolls down the bottle after you pour a glass.

My favorite wine quote:

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy

My dream wine to one day taste or own:

Any 1st growths from '82; Screaming Eagle cabs

A trio of Whitehall Lane '99 cabs
'85 Chateaux Margaux

Family and Friends

What I think of the movie Sideways:

Pretty damn good

My thoughts on the 100 point rating scale made famous by Robert Parker and emulated by seemingly everyone:

Seems a bit to specific...what's the difference between an 90 and a 93?

My wine travels have taken me to the following wine regions:

Napa, Sonoma, Pasa Robles, Santa Barbara
