Tasting Notes:
der SALDO: I think to mean 'balance' in Spanish? Produced by the black arts staff und under Dave Phinney masterful magic at Orin Swift Cellars, this has initial bottle notes of crushed raisin and blackberry bonnet. Allowed to open in the glass has a nose to this snifter of licorice black cherry Kirsch, low alcohol fume (if any), soft and approachable, no long aire time necessary. First sip und swish to reveal deep solid black paint viscous fluid in the glass, a wow moment of delicious determination of a full fleshed out medium wt. blackened raspberry and quiet loganberry, so soft elegante and completely approachable. --An instant stand-alone quality, like if the glass bottle should pffft disappear, the wine would keep it shape by itself, it has that command of presence. A forever favorite what with multi-Layered 5th dimensional effect of five separate Zinfandel's blended with apparent twinkle of the eye of Dave Phinney, ist not unlike like total immersion of your palette into x-ray luminous shadow box of other world dimensionally and seemingly unlimited layered striations of flavor, textured mineral streaks, soft tannins, all within a nebulous haze of dark black fruit flavors. Wow as it majestically rolls through your mouth, all this sparkle, but still unified luxurious feel to move to reveal a pleasant spice, slight graininess of varied mineral streaks note to back of palette finish. A finish as rock solid as first sip layers of taste. Is this "The Enigma" I've mused about? I plan to keep 6 - 10 bottles of this luxo decadent but modern reassurance on board at all times. Absolutely spectacular: il vino che più eccellente ho avuto mai?
