This is a newer offering in the Musar portfolio. It is intended to be the second less expensive line of wines (after the Jeaune lineup). It is a blend of 50% Cinsault, 40% Tempranillo, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. It drinks like a old school inexpensive Tempranillo. At a recent tasting, the group really liked this wine especially for the money. Deep purple in color, opaque and shimmering bright. The nose has black cherries, spices, and slight cherries. Medium to full bodied. Medium tannins. Good balance. On the palate, flavors of black cherries, cherries with some spice. Good finish. This drinks well on its own and will work with most foods. It went well with a Truffle Cheese and would be a nice pairing for Lamb or Brisket. Drink over the next seven to ten years.
