Assyrtiko, a wine usually grown in Greece, is just starting to be accepted into the American markets, but this one comes from Lodi, California. And, it is very good. Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose has great minerality along with slight floral notes and a hint of citrus (Lime?). Medium bodied. Good acidity. On the palate, the minerality takes over as well although there is some lime. Long finish. This wine is crisp and refreshing. It is nice on its own and will work well with lighter foods. Sushi would work well as would shellfish. Drink over the next three to five years
