This is a blend of 75% Mourvèdre, 14% Grenache, 9% Cinsault, and 2% Carignan from the south of France.  One of the top producers in Bandol, this is a blend of their three single vineyards.  Purple in color with slight ruby at the rim, opaque and bright.  The nose is deep with plums, spice, slight anise, with some earthiness and a bit of char.  Full bodied.  Medium to firm tannins.  Great energy.  On the palate, this is tight but opens in the glass.  Delicious.  Flavors of Plums, black raspberries, black cherries, spice and char.  Long finish.  This should get better with cellaring but no harm opening now.  Drink over the next ten to fifteen years (probably more).  It is great on its own but would be better with some hearty food.  Cassoulet would be a great match.
