Green/silvery gold in color, clear and bright. The nose is still quote tight. Some lemons and a bit of white pepper. Slightly oily texture. Medium bodied. Firm tannins. On the palate, lemons but some heat on the finish. This needs more cellar time or at least a decant and it should improve. Wait another year or two and drink over the next five. Nice with cold cuts and cheese.
Very pretty Gruner. Green/silver/gold in color, clear and bright. The nose is floral with green herbs (summer savory?). medium bodied. Light tannins. This was one of the more minerals driven Gruner's tasted with a strong almost "granite" quality. Also some tart lemons. Good finish. This begs for food. Goat cheese would be an excellent match, especially and aged hard version. Drink over the next five years.
Maybe my favorite vineyard from this winery At least in 2021, very impressive Green/silver/gold in color, clear and bright. The nose takes a bit to open, then shows limes with slight pepper. Medium bodied. Oily texture. On the palate, tart limes. Nice depth. Good finish but slight heat. This needs a year or two to come together and then, should drink well for ten years. Better with food. This would be great with fried chicken
Probably the best tasted at this Heuriger. Green/silvery/gold in color. The nose has limes, slight asparagus and white pepper. Medium bodied. Medium tannins. On the palate, this has some depth and complexity. It unwinds in the glass. Limes with some herbs and white pepper. Long finish. Drink over the next ten years. A nice wine with grilled salmon.
This is from Austria. Screw capped. Upon pouring, this is noticeably spritzy/frothy. A friend who brought the bottles back from Austria said a bottle consumed last summer was not spritzy. It would appear that this is a separate bottling and best guess, they gave it a shot of CO2 right before bottling. There is a popular drink in Austria made from Gruner Veltliner and Selzer which is essentially a Gruner Spritzer. Perhaps, this is the wineries take on that. Drank this at Heuriger Hamböck in Krems, Austria. 11.5% abv. This is considered a dry, "young wine". Young wine refers to the latest wines made which have a special legal status in Austria and are allowed to be sold at Heurigers. Green/gold in color, clear and bright. The nose has peach with slight white pepper. Light tannins. On the palate, minerals with some lemons especially on the finish. Clean. This is easy drinking and refreshing. Drink over the next couple of years. It works well with lighter foods such as cheeses and cold cuts.
