Roter Veltliner is a separate varietal from the more well known Gruner Veltliner. This one is light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose has red apples with some minerality. Medium bodied. Creamy texture. On the palate, this is a big white wine with seemingly lower acidity and more "presence". It has notes of red apples and minerality but is more about texture. Good finish. This is nice on its own and would work with food but stay away from spicy foods which would overwhelm the wine. A variety of cheeses would be nice to munch on with this wine. Drink over the next few years.
