Tasted at the winery.  The Kirchenberg vineyard is sheltered, south-east facing and situated below the historic church of Senftenberg. 1.9 Ha.  The soil is a bedrock of mica schist.  The wine is made with used oak barrels.  Green/gold in color, clear and bright.  The nose has pears and an interesting cigar note.  Medium bodied.  Good acidity.  On the palate, this has crisp pears with some white pepper.  Long finish.  This is really different and unusual and very good!  Long finish.  Drink over the next seven to ten years.  This drinks great on its own and will work well with lots of food.  It would go great with a roasted beet salad.
