This is a blend of 70% Carménère, 18% Merlot, and 4% Petit Verdot from Chile. Certainly one of the top wine from Chile and South America. Purple in color with ruby hues, also a bit of a bramble note. Opaque and bright. The nose is interesting with black cherries, pine, fresh herbs, and spice. Full bodied. Light to medium tannins. Flavors of black cherries, slight black olives with good depth and acidity. Long finish. This is young-ish but at age sixx it is showing some complexity and development. It drinks well now but another three to five years of good cellaring will be rewarded. Drink over the next ten to fifteen years. It is nice on its own and will work with big foods (not sea foods) such as Lamb Chops or Roaasted Duck.
