Another nice value Cab from Sonoma. Purple in color. The nose has cassis, slight iodine and baking spices. On the palate, this has a sour cherry quality to it. Baking spices come thru to the palate. Medium tannins. Moderate finish. This is easy drinking Cabernet. It should probably be consumed over the next five to seven years. A nice wine on its own and will work well with burgers.
This is an interesting wine. It is made by the two brothers who own Daou Vineyards from their very best vines in the mountains west of the 101 Freeway and retails for a very high price. It is their intention with this wine to show that Paso Robles is also capable of producing world class Cabernet Sauvignon. A consistent good value Cab from Sonoma. Inky purple in color. The nose has sweet cassis fruit. On the palate, this is drinking easy and well. Tasty. Juicy cassis. Very clean. Nice finish. This should be drunk over the next few years. It will go well with burgers off the grill.
Always a sound value in Napa Cabernet's. I am not sure of the exact blend this vintage, but usually, this is mostly Cab with some Merlot, Malbec and Petite Verdot. Purple in color, ruby swirls. The nose has cassis, sandalwood, slight mint and slight chocolate. On the palate, this is soft and accessible. Cassis and slight chocolate. Some depth and complexity but that should develop over the next five to seven years. Light to medium tannins. Nice finish. I am always looking for reasonably priced wines and this one sells for around $25 locally. It is a very nice wine that is worth picking up a bottle or two of if you like Sonoma Cabs. Purple in color. The nose has black cherries, slight cassis, slight tobacco and spice. On the palate, this is ready to drink now. The black cherry fruit carries thru. Light tannins. Some depth and complexity.
