Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose is nice. Fresh and young. Pears, slight peach, and some minerality.. Slightly viscous texture but balanced with crisp acidity. Sweet, could easily be a Spatlese. Long finish. This wine still seems quite primary. It went well with Japanese Tofu and vegetables. It will still improve over the next ten years and be good drinking for the next twenty or more.
From one of the premier German Riesling producers. Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose is wonderful with slight pineapple, peach and wet rocks. Medium bodied. On the palate, this is slightly sweet (demi-sec). Slightly viscous texture. Flavors of peach and grapefruit with a touch of smoke and lots of minerals. Long finish. Delicious. This drinks well now and should continue to for the next twelve to fifteen years. It will work with a wide variety of foods from aperitifs to dessert or just on its own. Grilled prawns would be a nice match.
Another great showing for this. A tremendous value. Light golden in color with slight green hues. The nose has wet rocks, slight peaches and lemons. Mildly viscous. On the palate, this is crisp and just a bit sweet. The peaches and minerality carry thru. Long finish. This is still young but drinks well. It should easily last another decade. Great on its own and a nice match with a lighter salad.
This was ordered off the list at Copper in Charlotte, NC. It went quite well with spicy vegetarian Indian cuisine. Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose has some peach, matchstick and minerality. Medium bodied. Slightly viscous. Strong acidity. On the palate, this is slightly sweet but maybe less than expected which was nice for a Kabinett. Flavors of peach and minerals. Long finish. This is drinking well at this point but should have at least a dozen years left.
This is drinking beautifully. Medium golden in color, clear and bright. The nose has pineapple, wet rocks, slight rock candy and slight peach. Lovely semi-viscous texture. Good acidity. On the palate, this is sweet but just a bit. Pineapple and peach with underlying minerality and wet rocks. Long finish. Delicious. This is mature and probably should be consumed in the next ten years. Great on its own, this is very food friendly. It will work great with Peking Duck.
