The 2015 is awesome but it is shutting down as I write this in 2018. Time to let even the basic wines sleep or give them some air. This is light golden in color. The nose has wet rocks and a slight pineapple note. It gives the perception that it will be sweet but it is dry. Great minerality. Long finish. This is under $20 and a great value. Screw capped as well.
Of course, this is young and tight, but this is really a great wine with plenty of upside to show. Light golden in color. What a great nose. it took some time to open and then, wow. Earthy with lemons and wet rocks. Deep and complex. On the palate, this is dry. Unlike some dry Rieslings, this doesn't even have a perception of sweetness. The earthiness it has it very interesting. Also layers of lemons and wet rocks. Great balance. Long finish. While drinking well now, this should be laid down for at least a few years. If you are going to drink now, give it plenty of air.
Green gold in color. The nose is already showing some petrol which is a bit concerning for a 2015. Also some slight grapefruit and bit of wet rocks. On the palate, this is slightly tart. Labeled as Trocken, it is mostly dry. Some minerals. A bit of lemon fruit. Not sure where this goes from here. It retails for around $20.
What a great showing for this wine. A new producer for me. Blind, I guessed Chablis due to the intense granny smith apple notes. Golden in color, clear and bright. The nose is full of Granny Smith (green) apples along with a crushed stone/chalky quality. On the palate, this has a great rich texture but cuts with excellent acidity. The tart green apples and crushed stones carry thru to the palate. Long finish. 2015 was a great year and this still has some more development to come although it is drinking well now. Maybe another three to five years until full maturity and should drink
Screw Capped. Light golden in color. Upon opening there are a slight amount of fine bubbles. It appears to be trapped CO2 which blows of quickly. No harm, no foul. The nose is great with green apples, slight wet rocks, slight lemon and simple syrup. On the palate, this has a fair amount of sweetness. Ripe fruit; citrus and peach. Good balance though. Drinks easy with some depth. Young now and very fresh and vibrant. It will develop over time. Delicious. 9.5% Alc. This will go with a wide variety of foods.
