Purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose has black raspberries, black pepper, slight roasted herbs and spice. Medium bodied. On the palate, black raspberries, char and slight dark chocolate notes. Nice finish. This is drinking well now and should for the next eight to twelve years. Nice on its own, this will work well with Indian dishes, too.
This is very young and hopefully a few years in the cellar shows some improvement. It is a good wine right now and presents itself in a more Northern Rhone style. Inky purple in color. The nose is spicy with slight green notes and some black raspberries. That spicy quality carries thru to the palate along with some tart red cherry fruit. Light tannins. A tangy finish. Strong acidity that really needs some fatty foods to work with it. It was not helped by being in the same lineup as some more warmer climate, riper Syrahs.
This was the groups favorite at a recent tasting of Central Coast Syrah's and with good reason. Delicious. Inky purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose has black raspberries, black pepper, bacon fat and slight blueberries. Full bodied. On the palate, black raspberry fruit with underlying char and slight pepper. A nice backbone of acidity. Long finish. This may yet improve a bit over the next three to five years. Drink for ten to twelve more after that. Great on its own. With time it will work better with food. Roasted meats or fowl is a nice choice.
Tensley is an excellent source for excellent wines at fair pricing. This one is a blend of 75% Syrah and 25% Grenache. This was a Magnum only release. Purple in color, opaque and bright. Black raspberry fruit with some pepper and underlying char. Nice finish. Drinking well now and should continue for another ten to twelve years. Very nice on its own, this would also be nice with roasted vegetables.
