Purple in color. The nose is nice enough if a bit under ripe. Cherries, green herbs (tarragon), slight violet notes. On the palate, this is old school CdP. Cherries, dark cherries, slight earthiness. Tight but layered. Medium tannins. Nice finish. Drinking well now and should be good to go for a decade.
Purple, ruby at the rim. The nose has cherries, black cherries, anise, spice and slight floral notes. Full bodied. Excellent balance. Cherries, dark cherries, spice and slight earthiness on the palate. Drinking quite fresh. Good energy. Opens up with air. Pretty close to peak but should stay there for 8 years at least. It will gain in complexity but lose some of the freshness. More fruit forward in style for CdP. Great wine.
This producer used to be known as Font de Michelle but has re-branded using this name. It is a very traditional CdP with about 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre according to the back label. Purple in color. The nose has black cherry and spice and a bit of a liqueur note. Very nice chewy mouth feel. Black cherries, a bit floral and cherries along with some alcohol on the palate. Long finish. This should pair well with stews, charcuterie and roasts. Both 2015 and 2016 are great vintages in CdP. This one easily has a decade or more left to enjoy.
This wine was bought on release and is exactly where it should be at age 21. Deep ruby in color with just a bit of browning at the edges. Clear and bright. The wine initially has some bottle funk but that blows of to reveal a classic CdP nose. Cherries, spice, slight barnyard, a bit of dried cherries and roasted herbs. Medium to full bodied. An outstanding CdP. A blend of 60% Grenache, 25% Mourvèdre and the rest Counoise, Vaccarèse and Muscardin. This is ripe, juicy and delicious if not the "classic" CdP in style. Purple in color, ruby swirls. On the nose this has boysenberries, sandalwood, char and slight floral notes. On the palate, this is juicy with big boysenberry fruit. There is a nice under layer of spice. Long finish. One of those wines that each sip tastes so good you want to have another. It will be interesting to see this age and lose the baby fat.
