Deep golden in color, clear and bright. Gorgeous nose of minerals, wet rocks and pineapple. On the palate, this is sweet but no where near cloying. Viscous. Great acidity balances it well. The palate has slight pineapple with minerals and plenty of depth. This is mature but will continue to evolve. No signs of diesel at this point. Easily another couple of decades left. It was a great match with a beet and goat cheese dish.
2003 wasa a very hot summer in Europe and many wines reflected that heat. At age 16, this wine is ripe and sweet but does not seem to be hurt by the heat. In fact, it was delicious and has matured beautifully. Still has years to go. Light golden in color. The nose has minerals, slight peach, slight simple syrup and is very clean (no petrol). On the palate, this is viscous and slightly sweet. Nice peach and minerals notes. Decent not great acidity. It was paried with a roasted beet salad with deep fried goat cheese croutons and that was an excellent match.
Gorgeous wine that is drinking quite well if still on the youthful side. Light golden in color. The nose is pretty with minerals, smoke, slight peach, slight floral tones. On the palate, this is medium bodied, slightly viscous. It has a bit of sweetness but not overt. The smoke and minerals come thru. Not quite "wet rocks", but minerality. Good acidity. Moderate finish. This will continue to develop but won't get better. It will last another ten to twelve years. A nice match for Thai food.
Wonderful, if still very young, showing for this wine. Golden in color with just a hint of green hues. The nose has peaches with smoke and wet rocks. Boisterous acidity. Great texture. On the palate, this is delicious. Peaches and baked peaches oppose crisp minerality and wet rocks. Plenty of depth if still tight. It unwinds in the glass. Long finish. This is very young and just starting to get expressive. It should improve over the next twenty years or so and then drink well for twenty more after that.
