Golden in color, slightly copper. On the nose this has a bit of toast, slight ginger, and a bit of straw/yeast. On the palate, there is some citrus. Some strawberries. Just a touch of residual sugar. This seems to be showing some age and probably should be consumed in the next couple of years. It will work well with medium or lighter foods, especially sea foods.
Medium golden in color. A nice head of tiny bubbles. This is 100% Pinot Noir. The nose is nice with slight toast, a bit of lemons, and slight ginger. On the palate, a bit of strawberries play with the lemons. Underlying yeast. No hint of oak on this wine, it is clean and lean and very refreshing. It will go well with most foods. It probably is getting to the point where it should be drunk up in the next few years.
This ubiquitous Champagne seems to be everywhere and sometimes, that means it can be easy to look past it (for wine geeks anyway). It is quite good. This is actually a special bottling to celebrate their 150th anniversary of their founding in 1869. It is a blend of equal parts Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier (30% to 40%) and the rest Chardonnay. Tasted from Magnum. Great showing. In the world of semi-affordable Champagne, this is one of the top Rose's. Ruby/copper in color, clear and bright. A steady steam of tiny bubbles form a pretty mousse. The nose has strawberries, slight orange peel and just a hint of currants. Medium bodied. Nice acidity. Fresh and clean. On the palate, the red currants really come out along with a bit of red raspberries. Nice finish. This drinks easily and served as a wonderful prelude to a long dinner, both stimulating the palate and working well with Potato Pave. Drink over the next few years
Light ruby in color. The nose has cherries, slight dust and slight funk. On the palate, this is open and drinking nicely. Some depth. Cherries with slight minerality. This might have a bit of upside with good cellaring but won't make old bones. That's fine as it will make enjoyable drinking over the next 7 to 10 years.
