A classic.  Decanted for four hours prior to serving.  Fully mature but not over the hill at age 28, this bottle was purchased shortly after release and cellared well.  Purple/brown in color, opaque and right.  There is some brett on the nose but well within tolerance (at least for this taster).  Also, black cherries, black raspberries, black pepper, and slight tobacco.  Medium to full bodied.  Light tannins.  Complex and deep.  Layered.  Flavors of black cherries, black raspberries, tobacco and slight coffee grounds.  Long finish.  A wine that make one stop and take notice.  It is contemplative and in that sense, great on its own but will work well with typical Cab friendly foods.  A cheesy mushroom casserole would be great.  Drink over the next ten or so years.
