Spectacular showing for this bottle.  Purple in color, mostly opaque and bright.  The nose has cassis, spice, slightly earthy along with some leathery notes.  Full bodied. At age 29, this is youthful and vibrant.  On the palate, complex and deep.  Cassis, char and some earthiness.  Long finish.  This bottle showed clean.  It must have been well stored all these years.  This bottle easily could have gone another ten to fifteen years.  It may not be representative though.  Great on its own, this would have worked well with prime rib or a steak.  Caveat, this is a wine that often seems to be overrated for my tastes, but it stood out at a tasting of great Cabs and Bordeaux blends.
