This is always one of the top Arneis's.  It comes from northern Italy where the Giacosa winery is one of the top wineries.  Light golden in color.  The nose has a nice minerality along with some peaches and a hint of melon.  On the palate, the melon is more dominant with underlying minerality.  A lovely texture with enough acidity to carry everything.  This is delicious, too.  It will work better with food although it drinks fine on its own.  A nice match for a fruit salad or seafood.  This should be consumed in the next five years.

This is this excellent Zinfandel producer's basic wine.  It is a very nice value.  In terms of style, it is middle of the road between a fruit bomb and a claret styled Zin.  Purple in color with some ruby swirls.  The nose is nice with cherries, black cherries, slight char and bramble.  On the palate, the cherries come thru.  This drinks easy with a slight complexity.  Some cough syrupy notes on the finish.  This probably should be consumed over the next three to five years.  Nice on its own, this will work well with burgers or ribs off the grill.

This is a great example of why to buy inexpensive Bordeaux in great vintages.  This was $12,50 on release.  I bought a bunch and this was the last bottle (I think).  it was quite enjoyable.  Is it amazing and complex?  No, but at age 15, it was delicious, and pleasurable.  Purple in color, ruby at the rim.  The nose has cherries, slight dried cherries and a bit of baking spices and tobacco.  On the palate, this is medium bodied.  Plenty of cherry fruit with an underlying earthiness.  Some complexity.  Tannins are mostly resolved.  Moderate finish.  This drinks fine on its own but would be b

Another great showing for this.  A tremendous value.  Light golden in color with slight green hues.  The nose has wet rocks, slight peaches and lemons.  Mildly viscous.  On the palate, this is crisp and just a bit sweet.  The peaches and minerality carry thru.  Long finish.  This is still young but drinks well.  It should easily last another decade.  Great on its own and a nice match with a lighter salad.

This is a winery club only wine.  Containing 100% Cabernet Sauvignon it, comes in at 16.1% abv.  The wine spends 17 months in two-thirds new oak.  Purple in color, opaque and bright.  The nose has sweet cassis, black cherries, cigar box and baking spice.  With air some dark chocolate emerges.  This s full bodied with ripe fruit.  Silky tannins.  Lots of energy.  Flavors of cassis and black cherry of a slight char and tobacco.  Good finish.  This is delicious right now but should calm down a bit with cellaring.  It depends on how you like your Cabs.  Right now this drinks great on its own.

This is the flagship wine from Justin.  It is a Bordeaux styled blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc and 7% Merlot.  it sees 100% new French oak.  This is a very nice wine that is pretty unique given the number of similarly proportioned wines in France, Napa and the rest of the world.  It has a deeper ruby color with some purple swirls, mostly opaque and bright.  The nose has black currants, some black cherries with a bit of baking spice and slight dark chocolate notes.  On the palate, this has a nice juicy, chewy texture.  Lots of black cherry fruit and spice.  Though plenty

This is a "right bank" Bordeaux blend from Paso Robles.  It is 65% Cabernet Franc and 35% Merlot and sees 44% new French oak for 20 months..  Ruby/purple in color, mostly clear and bright.  The nose is nice with black cherries, dusty, baking spices, slight tobacco and cedar.  On the palate, this has thick tannins at this stage.  Lots of cherries, red currants, spice and slight earthiness.  It is very tight right now but opened up nicely on day 2.  If drinking now, give it a good decant.  This should improve a bit over the next few years and be good for seven to ten years after that.  It has

Nice to be able to try this with a bit of age on it.  Deeper cherry red in color, clear and bright.  The nose has cherry lozenges, slight mushrooms and dust.  On the palate, this has a full bodied, juicy texture.  Cherry candies/lozenges.  The bottle lists 14.6% abv but it seems higher both in texture and warmth on the finish.  That said, this is enjoyable and probably better as a cocktail than at the dinner table.  It could probably hold up with a grilled steak.  It probably should be drunk in the next few years.

This is a pretty classic RRV Pinot Noir.  It skirts the line between elegance and brawn nicely.  A nice value for a Pinot Noir of this quality.  Ruby in color, clear and bright.  The nose has sour cherries, slight root beer, and baking spices.  Really a great texture.  Creamy but with some cut to it.  It dances on the palate which has plenty of cherry fruit and sunshine.  Slight char note underlying the fruit.  Nice finish.  This is young and needs some cellaring or air.  It unwinds a bit in the glass but gives the impression of more to come.  It should be cellared for three to five more ye

This is the base Pinot from Landmark.  It sources grapes from Monterey, Santa Barbara and Sonoma Counties.  The wine is fermented in stainless steel and then spends 10 months in 25% new French oak.  Stylistically it is middle of the road with more elegance but still lots of sunshine.  Cherry red in color, clear and bright.  The nose is nice with a bit of smoke and cherries at first but lightens with air to show some pretty strawberries.  Medium bodied.  On the palate, the strawberries come thru.  Nice acidity.  Turning more to tart black cherries on the finish.  There is some depth.  This i
