This is Cabernet from Chile's Maipo Valley. It is interesting as the fruit profile is more about "red" fruits than "purple". Garnet in color, with some purple swirls, mostly opaque and bright. The nose has black cherries with a slight char. Medium bodied. Light to medium tannins. On the palate, this is easy drinking. Flavors of black cherries, slight mint, and char. Moderate finish. This should be popular with at a cook out or party. It drinks well on its own and will work with most foods (not seafood). It went nicely stuffed peppers. Drink over the next three to five years.
