This is a Pinot Noir from South Africa. It is not quite elegant, but certainly on the restrained side of Pinot Noir. Ruby in color, clear and bright. The nose has cherries, cranberries, slight fresh herbal note, and slight rhubarb. Medium bodied. Light tannins. On the palate, cherries, rhubarb and cranberries with a slight vegetal streak. Good acidity. This needs food to show its best. Roasted chicken or duck with mushrooms would work well. Drink over the next five to seven years. No doubt if you like this style (not my favorite), you will score this a few points or more higher.
