This is a certified Organic wine made from 100% Ner d'Avola grapes in Sicily. 13.5% ABV. Mostly brought up in steel with little oak. Deep ruby in color, mostly clear and bright. The nose is very nice with cherries, raspberries and a slight pine note. Medium bodied with juicy acidity. On the palate, more to black raspberry fruit with a slight underlying smoke. Light tannins. This took about an hour to really open and then was drinking great. Long finish. This seems like it should drink well for another five to seven years. It will work well with Pasta alla Norma, Sicily's famous pasta dish.
