2018 Clos Apalta, Chile, Apalta, Wine Review

This is a blend of 64% Carmenere, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon and 18% Merlot.  Purple in color, opaque and a little flat in color.  On the nose, there is black raspberries, blueberries, black pepper, and char.  Very tight and needs air.  Full bodied.  Light to Medium tannins.  On the palate, this is much more open.  Sweet black raspberries with some blueberries and char.  Long finish.  This is delicious with a nice amount of complexity.  Not yet at peak but no harm opening now (but give it a decant).  Drink over the next ten to fifteen years.  This would be nice with Herb Crusted Pork Tenderloin.
