Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose has grapefruits with white pepper. Light bodied. Good acidity. On the palate, the grapefruit comes thru along with a touch of white pepper. Good finish. Refreshing. This is probably better with food. Lighter foods but also fried chicken would work well. Drink now.
This is resally drinking nicely right now. Maybe give it just a bit of air. Light golden in color. The nose has peas, slight white pepper and pears. Medium bodied. On the palate, this has good, not intense acidity. Nice mouthfeel. The pears continue thru and give it some edge. Very persistent finish. Drinking well, it won't get better but should last for another five years. A nice match with lighter summer foods or on its own.
This is a good wine, but given its $96 price tag, it was disappointing. A slight amount of trapped CO2. Medium gold in color. Slight sulfur to the nose but otherwise pretty tight. Some asparagus and limes. On the palate, this is soft. It has a dusty taste with slight limes. No obvious faults here. Given the pedigree, it may be shut down hard right now though that's not something usually associated with GV. Good acidity. Worked well with food. It did not seem to change in any respect for the two and a half hours in the glass.

Really pleasant, long finish. The acidity here helps this become more food friendly although it still drinks well on its own. It will work well with fried chicken and other fried foods. Drink over the next five to seven years.
This had just been bottled when I tasted it at the winery. It should be even better with just a bit of bottle age. Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose is more about minerality than fruit though there is a slight note of lime. What a great, slightly oily texture. Rich yet crisp. On the palate, it is still more about minerality although the limes come thru a bit more. Complex. Long finish. Delicious. This will improve with a year or so of patience. Drink over the next ten years. This would go great with breaded and fried foods (chicken or pork)!
From one of the oldest wineries in Europe and one of the oldest vineyards (first mentioned in print in 511AD), this is a beautiful Gruner. Green/gold/silver in color, clear and bright. The nose is pretty with slight floral notes, asparagus, apples and spice. Full bodied. Crisp acidity. On the palate, this has limes, and slight lemons with underlying acidity. Long finish. This is a delicious wine that is showing plenty of depth and complexity. Drink over the next ten to twelve years. It is excellent on its own and will work well with a wide variety of foods.
