This is a blend of 90% Nerello Mascalese, and 10% Nerello Cappuccio from the southeast slope of Mt. Etna in Sicily.  Ruby in color with garnet swirls, mostly clear and bright.  The nose is earthy and a bit dusty with cherries and slight strawberries.  Medium to full bodied with medium tannins.  On the palate, this has a nice complexity with cherries and black cherries over a bit of char.  Very well balanced.  Moderate finish.  Very tasty on its own, it will work better with food.  Rabbit would work well but so would Sarde a beccafico (stuffed sardines).  Drink over the next seven to ten years.
