Suzanne Reifers, founder of one of the nation’s earliest wine bars (Suzanne’s in Washington, D.C.), has been professionally involved in fine wine and specialty food for 28 years. Alfred E. Judd, a Federal government manager by day, spends his free time with his nose in a wine glass or a cookbook planning his next meal. Reifers and Judd have traveled and tasted extensively in the wine regions of California, the Pacific Northwest, the Eastern U.S., and France. They especially love the Rhone Valley and its wines, as well as Rhone-style wine from the United States and elsewhere. Now residents of northern California, they have been sharing a glass of one wine or another since 1981.
