Stephen George is an attorney by day and an oenophile by night. His love of all things French stems from the year he spent tasting his way around France while studying and working in Grenoble and Paris. Stephen has tasted wine at estates in Burgundy, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and Bandol, among other French regions, and he passionately preaches the virtues of buying European at every opportunity. Stephen’s favorite wines change every month, but at the moment they include grenache/syrah/mourvèdre blends from the Southern Rhône, Piemonte nebbiolos, and the sangiovese-based wines of Montalcino and Montepulciano. He is currently in therapy to address his aversion to jammy, oaked, high-octane California wines, including pinot noir that smells like cognac and chardonnay that tastes like buttered toast.
Stephen and his wife, Emily, live in the California Bay Area where they pass their weekends sipping wine coolers and playing Parcheesi.
