This is an interesting blend of 50% Tannat, 33% Merlot, and 17% Malbec from Virginia.  The name, L. Scott, is a tribute to Michael's brother who passed away from ALS and money is donated from the sales of this wine.  Purple in color with ruby swirls, mostly opaque and bright.  The nose has tart cherries, slight rhubarb and a bit of oak/spice.  Full bodied.  Firm tannins.  Medium acidity.  On the palate, tart cherries with an interesting black olive note and char.  Moderate finish.  This  is nice on its  own and will work with food.  It does need some air or better a few more years in the cellar.  Hold for three and drink for ten to fifteen after that.  It would work nicely with grilled ribs.
