Beaujolais Nouveau Statistics

In 2002 , over 11 million bottles of Beaujolais Nouveau was sold in France. 2.3 million bottles were sold in the Paris region alone. A total of 25,500,000 bottles of Beaujolais Nouveau were sold for export to over 150 countries.
Beaujolais Nouveau exports - in bottles - were as follows:
Japan: 7,100,000
Germany: 7,000,000
United States: 4,000,000 (+5%)
Netherlands: 1,500,000
Switzerland: 1,100,000
Italy: 700,000 (+36%)
United Kingdom: 500,000
Canada: 550,000 (+15%)
Belgium: 500,000
The first three export markets alone - Japan, Germany and the United States - make up 70% of the export market and 28% of the total volumes of Beaujolais Nouveau.
