The Vibe: 

The JV Wine and Tasting Bar is a great Napa stop for two reasons 1). You can try a variety of small production, boutique wines (and even a beer or two!) for a very affordable fee and 2.) you can then shop for a variety of wines in their large wine store. You can ask one of their knowledgeable sommeliers any questions you have about any bottle on the floor, and you don’t have to worry about buying the latest top-pointer. JV doesn’t display points or ratings, and they won’t recommend anything that they haven’t tried and can vouch for. Given their large selection and emphasis on quality over hype, it isn’t surprising that this is the place where the local winemakers go when they’re looking for a classic German Riesling or fiesty Spanish red.
