The Vibe:

While wineries modeled after French chateau and Italian villas may seem like a dime a dozen in California wine country, those emulating the beauty and grandeur of a Persian palace are rather rare. Since opening its travertine-tile-clad tasting room in 2004, Darioush has been on that short list. Guests who enter the visitors’ center are greeted by a warm and hospitable staff, and encouraged to take their time exploring the gallery/temple-like space. Once they’ve finished admiring the elegant architecture and wall of water, they can make their way to the tasting bar to try a few of the estate’s Bordeaux-style wines. The winery isn’t available for private events, but does host its own series of “by Invitation Only” wine and food pairings, as well as the occasional performance in its outdoor ampitheatre.
