Tasted blind, I thought this was a Châteauneuf du Pape.  It had a lot less acidity than I might have expected but such is blind tasting.  The wine itself was much better than my blind tasting abilities.  Ruby in color, mostly clear and bright.  The nose has cherries, some black cherries, spice, black licorice and slight floral notes.  Full bodied.  On the palate, this is drinking well.  Medium tannins.  Plenty of black cherry fruit with some licorice on the finish.  It drinks well on its own and would work nice with a pizza.  Drink over the next seven to ten years.

Served blind, I was able to successfully guess Barolo but not without some consternation.  This hade all the earmarks of Nebbiolo but lacked the acidity one would normally expect in an Italian wine.  Still, it drinks very well at age ten.  Ruby in color, mostly clear and bright.  The nose has cherries, anise and a slight dried floral note.  Medium to full bodied.  On the palate, this is tannic.  Cherries with underlying "sticks and twigs".  Some level of complexity.  Good finish.  This seems a bit short of peak but it won't likely get better.  It should drink well for ten to twelve more yea

This is showing some age, but for my tastes was very nice.  The cork crumbled trying to remove it.  The wine came out quite funky but after about 15 minutes started drinking well and by the end of the evening was in top form.  Ruby in color, mostly clear and bright with a purple core.  Once the bottle funk blew off, there was some cherry notes, fresh and dried, along with merde/barnyard and a slight minty note.  This is mature and the tannins are all just about resolved.  The palate had cherries, black cherries with a nice complexity.  Served blind to friends, some found it old and others t

This is 100% Syrah from France.  Garnet in color, ruby at the rim, mostly opaque and bright.  The  nose has some boysenberries and smoke.  Medium bodied with light tannins.  On the palate, cranberries, black cherries and some char.  Moderate finish.  This is a nice wine although I would have a hard time guessing Syrah if tasting blind.  It drinks easy and price right.  Drink over the next few years.  It would work well with Indian food.

This is 100% Chardonnay from France.  The grapes are organically grown at 800 feet altitude.  Pale gold in color, bright and clear.  On the nose there is a fair amount of oak (spice, slight vanilla, and lumber) as well as slight pineapples and lemons.  Medium bodied.  On the palate, this is a bit chalky with apricots and slight lemons. Moderate finish.  This is drinking well on its own and will work nice with soft cheeses.  Drink over the next year or two.

This is an inexpensive Sauvignon Blanc from France.  Pale golden in color, clear and bright.  The nose is a bit grassy with oranges.  Light to medium bodied with a slightly oily texture.  On the palate, minerals and slight orange as well.  A bit of menthol on the finish.  Moderate acidity.  This is a bit of a different showing for a Sauvignon Blanc but very enjoyable.  It drinks well on its own and would work nicely with lighter foods.  A citrus salad would be nice.  Drink over the next year.

This is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with some Merlot, Syrah, Malbec, Petite Sirah, and Charbono.  It is a big wine in the style of the Prisoner but perhaps a bit more "serious" if that makes sense.  Inky purple in color, ruby at the rim, opaque and bright.  The nose has cassis, black cherries, cedar, dark chocolate, baking spices and slight coffee notes.  Full bodied.

Hard to believe this wine has been made for twenty years now.  It is a proprietary blend of red grapes that has thrilled its audience consistently and the 2019 is no exception.  Inky purple in color, garnet at the rim, opaque and bright.  The nose has black raspberries, black cherries, figs, baking spices and slight bramble notes.  Full bodied.  Juicy acidity. Medium tannins.
