Bottle Nose

Hello,

My name is Trevor Frey, I am relatively new to the world of wine (about two years in) and as time goes by it seems to have become one of the few real passions in my life. I was born in the south bay of California where I am seemingly migrating back to.
I am in my early twenties and very close to becoming an editor of television shows. Although there is a great deal of money to be made in this industry I have realized that my ambition is driving me to become much more, which is where the wine comes into play.
I am joining this website for a few reasons. One, to learn from so many of you who are well educated in all types of wines. Two, to possibly get in contact with current wine bar owners, and three to obtain as much information all around to help me achieve my goal of eventually opening a wine bar.
If anyone has any helpful information that could direct me on my path It would be most appreciated...

-Cheers

A fair restaurant corkage fee is:

Depending 7.50 to 12.50

My wine travels have taken me to the following wine regions:

High Time, Trader Joe's, Costco, and... Ralphs. OH oh and BevMo

What I think of the movie Sideways:

The Caddy shack of wine lovers.

My "wish list" of wines I want to acquire soon:

Opus one

My biggest wine pet peeve:

Not enough bottles of 04' Napa

A tell-tale sign of a wine snob is:

A diverse vocabulary of unusually strange words that can only be used for describing wines.

The wine region I most want to visit:

Bordeaux

The people with whom I most often enjoy wine:

My amazing girlfriend

The best wines I have ever tasted:

The very few I have tasted I would have to say the most full bodied cab Napa could produce.

My dream wine to one day taste or own:

I have yet to learn of such a wine, when that it is a glass of wine that each new day brings is a dream itself.

My favorite wine quote:

Drink to me only with thine eyes,
And I will pledge with mine;
Or leave a kiss but in the cup,
And I'll not look for wine.

The last wine I had that I absolutely loved:

Roth, Napa valley 04'

My thoughts on the 100 point rating scale made famous by Robert Parker and emulated by seemingly everyone:

A good way to be pointed in the right direction but just as helpful as placement on a shelf or the price itself. I have tasted amazing 80 point wines and wanted to spit out 98 point wines. I have had 40 dollar bottles that could not match up to 14 dollar bottles
