This is a blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot, 1% Malbec. Deep garnet in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose is lovely with cassis, cedar, black cherries, slight dried tobacco, spice and an interesting menthol note. Full bodied. Firm tannins. On the palate, this is delicious. Cassis, black cherries, spices and graphite. Lovely texture. Long finish. This is young but drinking well. It is great on its own and would work well with roasted meats and/or root vegetables. It will still improve. Drink over the next twenty years.
This is a blend of 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Malbec and the remainder Petite Verdot and Merlot. Purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose is great with cassis, graphite, plums, and char. Full bodied. Medium tannins. Nice balance. On the palate, this seems fully mature but not showing much age past that. Lovely texture. Flavors of cassis and plums with underlying earthiness and char. Long finish. This should stay at this level and drink well for another ten to fifteen years. Nice on its own, this will work with many foods (not seafood). Brisket would work well.
This winery still exists but they were sold and utilize a completely different model for grapes these days. But, back in the day, this was the best winery in Ohio. It is located in the southern part of the state along the Ohio River. Deep garnet in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose has black cherries, slight herbal notes and a bit of spice. Medium to firm tannins. On the palate, black cherries, green bell pepper, and some spice. Good finish. Overall, a pleasant, quality Cabernet that at age 19 is drinking just fine. still, I would drink these sooner than later. Probably b
