Ruby in color, opaque and bright. The nose has black cherries with a bit of a cough syrup quality. medium bodied. On the palate a very slightly sweet black cherry fruit. Some depth and complexity. Wow. Incredible wine. Served from Magnum, this is still young but with some air was singing. 100% Grenache. Purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose has cassis, black cherries, spices, floral qualities but also a bit or roasted meats and herbs. Full bodied. Light tannins. On the palate, this is concentrated, intense and delicious. Cassis, lavender, slight black cherry with underlying char and minerality. Voluptuous texture. Great balance. Long finish. This is great on its own and went very well with Mushroom Agnolotti. Still young, especially from Magnum, this will make gr
A nice white from Bordeaux. A blend of Sémillon 20%, Sauvignon Blanc 40%, Sauvignon Gris 30%, and Muscadelle 10%. Medium golden in color, clear and bright. The nose has a nice lemon streak with a Schist rock quality to it. On the palate, this has a slightly oily texture. Lemon fruit although there is a bit of a bitter quality especially on the finish. Also a touch of lemon candy. Drinking well now, but this probably should be consumed in the next year or so. Nice on its own, it will work with lighter foods.
2007 was an excellent year for Zinfandel and the Easton Zins are no exception. This wine is purple in color. It has a great nose bordering on a right bank Bordeaux with some age. Deep with black cherries and some tobacco. On the palate, it seems to be youthful still but showing some maturity. Juicy black cherry fruit. There is a nice complexity here. Good finish. Food friendly. It might not get better but should be here for a while.
