This is from the home vineyard of Vita Valiente. The vineyard was planted in 2018 at the base of Glass Mountain in St. Helena. Beautifully packaged with an etched in paper label. Decanted for about four hours. 14.8% abv. Purple in color with some ruby hues, opaque and bright. The nose has cassis, a really interesting dark chocolate note, spice and rocky minerality. Full bodied. Firm tannins. Beautiful plush texture. This wine is surprisingly accessible if still quite young. On the palate, cassis, a bit of dark chocolate, earthiness and char. Long finish. This wine is deep and complex. It will be fascinating to watch this as the vines mature over the next decade or three. This will improve but no harm drinking it now. Drink over the next twenty to thirty years.
